Key Food circular is currently available in your local store. Main Food Shops Co-op, Inc. is a privately-owned supermarket cooperative, founded in Brooklyn, New York on April 20, 1937. Its stores are located in Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Headquarters for the main food cooperative is in Staten Island; The Chief Executive is Dean Janeway. The co-operation also operates stores under the Main Food Market, Key Fresh & Natural, Food Dynasty, Urban Market, World Food Worldwide, Food Universe Marketplace, SuperFresh and Food Emporium Banners.

 

In November 2015, the company completed the purchase of 23 stores from A & P being bankrupt, bringing the total number of stores under its management to 212. The stores included branches of Pathmark, A & P, Waldbaums, Food Emporium and Food Basics USA. Two of the stores have to operate under corporate ownership and not cooperative (the first one for the company). Buying made it the biggest retailer in New York City. The main supplier of A & P and Key Food is C & S Grocers Wholesale.
