This corporation owned by Nebraska employees operates exclusively in the retail food industry and has its corporate headquarters in Lincoln, Nebraska, United States.

 

The first B & R Stores store, owned by Super Saver, was opened in 1984 at 48 & O Streets in Lincoln. At the time of the opening, it was the largest retail grocery store in the state in terms of square footage (60,000 square feet). In 1988 a second Super Saver opened with 70,000 square meters at 27th and Cornhusker Highway, and a third store opened in July 1991 at 56 & Highway 2.

 

B & R Stores was founded in 1964 by Russ Raybould. Over the past 50 years, the company has grown to include Russ, Super Saver, Save Best, along with the Grand Central Market Apple at Kearney, Nebraska, which the company bought in 2008.
